Puppy Training

Our puppy training experiences are unlike traditional training programs.  We focus on a healthy owner-puppy relationship while building foundations of obedience including sit, down, place, stay, heel, introducing recall and overall manners (no jumping, biting, etc.).  Beginning puppy classes as soon as you bring your little one home eliminates many future issues by learning good habits and commands early on.  We take the time to educate owners on proper dog handling, dog behavior and general knowledge about the breed they’ve chosen.

Hourly Training

Our hourly training programs are tailored to each individual dog and owner needs. We come to your home, listen to your particular needs and educate you on how to begin obedience and address behavioral issues. A polite and respectful dog begins with proper structure and then requires repetition and consistency to create a solid foundation of communication between you and your best friend.

Working in partnership with owners, we offer strategies for a well-balanced and behaved dog, demonstrate proper technique and then rely on owners to follow-through with implementing training.

PACKAGE OF 5 SESSIONS

Training your best friend to be well socialized and obedient amid distractions is a process.  Our package of five sessions is offered at a discount to save owners money.  We find that when owners commit up front to a continued training schedule, they are more successful and accountable in their training, and their dogs are more attentive and respectful.  We meet once a week at your house, guide you through training, offer objectives, and then you follow through on daily training for the rest of the week.  Following appointments assesses the success of your previous weeks’ training and then guides you through your next objectives.  Having owners participate in training improves the relationship between dog and owner while encouraging bonding and a respectful relationship.

Board and Train

Board and train programs are designed for the busy family.  Your pet will come to us where we do the training and socializing for you.  Our board and train programs focus on obedience, socialization and re-integration into your home.  We have listened to many clients who spent thousands of dollars sending their dog away for training only to find that when it returns, it’s not very obedient at all.  Our programs address that deficiency by teaching dogs a great foundation while with us, and then transferring that skillset to owners through re-integration with families.

Our Pendleton, SC programs offer everything from basic obedience to off leash training, performance training, K9 Good Citizen certification and doggie adventure excursions.  Additionally, a well socialized dog is a less reactive dog.  As part of all board and train programs, we socialize your dog to other dogs, people, the environment and then to particular experiences (moving vehicles, retail stores, reactive dogs, etc.).

When learning new habits and behaviors, dogs need consistency, repetition and time.  Our board & train programs are a doggy boot camp for your dog.  We give them the constant training and structure that is essential for them to be successful.

Our goal is for you to have the absolute best experience and relationship with your best friend.

We tailor each board and train program to individual dog and family needs.  Camps focus on, but are not limited to:

Adventure Training

We love to be active with our dogs and we imagine there are others like us.  We encourage people to think early about the life they’d like to have with their dogs and then we tailor training programs to accommodate those life excursions.  The upstate region has a host of things that you can do with your pet.  For instance, if you camp and you'd love to take your dog, it’s incredibly beneficial to have your dog desensitized to campground sounds, traveling and greeting strangers.  Or, if you’d like to take your dog to a child’s baseball game, it’s advantageous to have your dog desensitized to people cheering, meeting strangers and knowing NOT to chase the baseball!  We tailor all adventure training programs to owner needs and would be delighted to hear what you’re planning with your best friend!

Room and Board

Our room and board programs, located in Pendleton, SC offer your dog a home away from home experience.  While staying with us, your dog is treated like one of ours.  They eat with ours, play with ours and often participate in some of the daily training that happens with our pack.  Because we don’t kennel dogs for hours,  we have limited space for room and board so make sure to secure your dog’s reservation early!

Day Care

We all live busy lives and sometimes we don’t have time to be attentive to our four-legged friends.  Our daycare programs are a boutique service that makes your life easy when life gets tough.  If you're located within 20 miles of Pendleton, SC, we pick your dog up and then do any number of adventure/training experiences.  Following an “exercise, train, exercise” structure, your dog receives the mental and physical exercise they need to return home exhausted.  If your day is too busy to incorporate your dog’s exercise and training, we’re here to help you out.

If you live outside that radius and would still like to have us pick your dog up, give us a call, we may have time on the day you're looking for to accommodate your needs. (Travel Fees Apply)

Chris and Parker

Owner-Chris-with-her-dog-Parker-in-her-house

"We are retired, hadn’t had a dog in years and live in an active adult retirement community with a small yard.  When we decided to get our little man, we knew we needed some guidance.  A friend of ours highly recommended Andrea and we can’t say enough good things about her.  Andrea arrived at our house shortly after we brought our puppy home and right from the get-go, educated us on how to be a good leader for our Parker.  Her instruction on things that could be worked on in the house was simple and easy to understand and when we thought we weren’t doing our training correctly, she came right over, identified what we were doing wrong and demonstrated again what we should be doing.

Then, it seemed like overnight, our puppy went from nice, polite and obedient little guy to being defiant and naughty.  He began not coming when we called and was darting out of the yard and then acting like it was a fun game of chase as we tried to catch him.  Parker is much faster than we are, and we became very frustrated with the new games he was playing.

We decided to send him to Andrea’s boot camp.  Four weeks with her and his manners and attention improved and we learned the importance of getting him enough exercise.  Her program was exactly what Parker needed and now, if we run into challenges with him, it’s part of her program that she comes out and works with us to get him on the right track again.

Andrea is a joy to work with and like a stepmother to our little guy.  We can’t say how much we appreciate her and her knowledge and expertise with dogs."

Penny with Stella and Bella

"We met Andrea while she was working with another couple and their puppy at a local forest preserve.  We have two golden doodles who are 8 and 10 months old and both had poor leash behavior and lacked manners indoors.  When Andrea saw Mark being pulled down the trail by our two puppies, she immediately ran over to help him get a handle on the situation.  Later, Mark called to inquire about additional leash training and after meeting her, it became very apparent that WE needed to improve our relationship with our puppies in order for them to be the calm and polite dogs we want to have.

We’ve been working with Andrea for a couple of months.  She’s taught US how to set appropriate boundaries and limitations for our dogs and educated us on the importance of having a leadership role so that Stella and Bella had clear expectations to follow.  Once we began holding our girls accountable for doing what we said, they were immediately more attentive, and we realized we didn’t have to yell for them to obey us.  Getting a handle on our leadership role with the girls has carried over to improved leash walking and general manners with our granddaughter.

We’ve also started utilizing Andrea’s “farm excursion” experience for the girls.  She arrives when she says she will and always sends us a message when she’s on the way to drop them off.  The girls LOVE it.  They come home hungry and exhausted for the rest of the day!"
